PLY-SKID snow melting and ice prevention is ideal for outdoor floors in concrete, asphalt, stone, gravel and natural or artificial turf. Based on Amorphous Metal Ribbon technology, it offers significant advantages over any other hydronic solution or one based on electric heating cables.

Elements
PLYTERM currently supplies two product families:
- Heating strips or mats for outdoor use underground/technical base with a power between 250 and 500 watts/m2
- Outdoor strips for ice prevention on roofs, gutters and pipes
Both families are based on Amorphous Metal technology enclosed within a robust and flexible structure. The element is designed in accordance with IEEE 515.1 for underground and outdoor applications.
Heating element performance
The heating element has a pre-set wattage; using different widths and lengths of Amorphous metal ribbon the required thermal power per linear metre can be obtained. Typically the maximum power limit for each heating element is 62 watts/lm. This limit is over 5 Amps for a single circuit. The heating element can be powered by different voltage levels, AC or DC: 110-120, 208, 220-240, 400 and 600 Volts. The upper temperature limit of the element is 70 ˚C.
Geometric dimensions
The width of the ribbon is 33 mm and the thickness is 5 mm.
Electrical measurements
The power of the ribbon is calculated based on the customer's needs and the type of use and application (AGRICULTURE, INDUSTRY, PUBLIC AND DOMESTIC ENVIRONMENTS).
